PRIME Business Club is a support web site, holding material of practical use to people starting up in business. We have another web site, www.prime.org.uk, that holds information about the charity itself, why it was founded and asks for help and volunteers.

Here on PRIME Business Club the material is divided into three areas – Posts, Pages and Resources

1. POSTS

Posts are topical items posted on a particular date, such as case studies of people starting a business, discount offers available to club members and items of news.

Sign up here to get a start-up pack and free weekly business newsletters if you haven’t already done so. PRIME’s services are free to people over 50 who aren’t in paid work or who are facing redundancy.

Since there are several hundred posts they are grouped into categories, with the most recent always shown first.

2. PAGES

Pages are the permanent structure of the site – for example how to contact PRIME, what we do and so on. Some very common topics such as events or ask the experts have both pages and posts. So the events page describes the sort of events we offer and lists the most recent, while each event gets its own detailed post, with these posts collected together and viewable under the events category. Similarly the ask the experts page describes the experts and how to ask questions, while posts for each question-and-answer set are collected together in the ask the experts category.

3. RESOURCES

The resources area holds detailed accounting and tax guidance suitable for new and small businesses. Since the issues involved are sometimes technical, we have enlisted the help of PracticeWeb, whose expert writers provide the content for the web sites of many professional accounting firms. There are around 700 items here, so this section has its own Search (at top right when in the Resources section).

Finally here is something called an XML sitemap. This is very comprehensive, and is provided primarily for search engines. It lists every live post and page on www.primebusinessclub.com – with the exception of content in the Resources area. With several hundred items in the Resources area an unstructured list wouldn’t be helpful.
